Why Earthbook exists

Most of what we make online is built to disappear. Posts scroll past, accounts close, servers shut down, and entire lives — billions of them — leave no record at all.

Earthbook is the opposite. It is a single, quiet page for every person on Earth. A photograph. A name. Where you are from. A message to those who will come after. That is all. That is enough.

We are trying to build the most comprehensive digital record of humanity ever assembled.

Our purpose is permanence. In a century, most of today's internet will be gone — deleted, restructured, or simply lost to time. Earthbook is designed to outlast platforms, trends, and even its creators. Every entry is preserved with the same care as a museum archive, because we believe every life deserves to be remembered, not just the loudest ones.

This is not social media. It is not a competition. It is a shared commitment to posterity — a collective act of saying, we were here, and it mattered. When future generations look back, we want them to find not just headlines, but people. Real people, from every country, every walk of life, every story.

There are no likes. No followers. No comments. No messages. No feed. There is nothing to optimize for, nothing to win. The reward for being here is simply that you were here.
